D-Day Ceremony and Bell Ringing
June 6 @ 6:15 pm - 7:00 pm
Join the Bedford Boys Tribute Center on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for the 82nd D-Day Anniversary Ceremony, which is open to the public. The ceremony will take place from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in front of the Bedford Boys Memorial Stone on the west lawn of the County Courthouse.
East Main Street from North Bridge Street to South Street will be closed for pedestrian traffic only, and attendees are encouraged to bring comfortable lawn chairs.
The ceremony will honor the supreme sacrifices made by the Bedford Boys through the presentation of colors, the singing of the National Anthem, keynote speakers, and the presentation of an ivy wreath. At precisely 6:44 p.m., the courthouse bell will ring once for each Bedford Boy. Attend this special event to be part of history and remember that freedom is not free.
