This is to ensure that visitors are spread out over the course of the afternoon. The first 30 people to arrive at the farmhouse for each time slot will receive a free hot chocolate! These are only for those who arrive at their designated time slot. Hot chocolate will be available for purchase as well thanks to Nomad! \nIn addition\, there will be Claytor and Cloverlea items for purchase as gifts for the holidays\, including gift memberships.  \nYour ticket supports our mission and allows us to steward the land and provide meaningful\, educational programs to people of all ages. SUMMARY:Bedford Hike for Hope
DESCRIPTION:The 5th annual Bedford Hike for Hope will be hosted at Claytor Nature Center\, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.\nThis is their second year hosting the Hike\, and they are happy to have grown a bit\, along with adding elements to this year’s event.\n Please join a team\, create your own\, or make a donation.\nThe Hike will begin and end at the Cloverlea Farmhouse Memorial Gardens. There will be music\, snacks and water and coffee\, tables for our sponsors\, local organizations\, and counselors will be available on site. An Honor Bead Ceremony will be added this year\, as well as a Memorial Wall at the starting area for your posters\, pictures\, and other tributes to loved ones.\nThe Bedford Hike will have two trail options again this year. One trail is a more moderate hiking trail through wooded areas (2.5 mi)\, and the other is a flatter\, easier hike that is jogging stroller-friendly\, through open fields and woods (1.6 mi). You may also choose not to hike and simply remain in the starting area. Both trails culminate at the Reflecting Pool back at the start.\nHike participants are welcome to gather here for as long as desired (the event officially ends around noon\, but gates to the property close at 5 pm). All are invited to relax\, reflect\, make new contacts\, and share your stories with others. \nThis event is rain or shine. Learn how our local wildlife adapt and overcome by preparing caches for leaner months.\nThis is a self-guided program in which you will complete a passport given to you at the beginning of your adventure by our staff. Participants will take to the trail system to find the question stations that correspond with their passports. Activities are geared towards elementary students\, but there are a mix of easy and challenging questions to keep students of all ages engaged\, as well as parents!
